Resumen : Suicide is one of the main causes of death among the adolescent population, which is why it is considered an important mental-health problem. In addition to this situation, for each suicide, the group of people who survive it (known as suicide survivors) can present serious emotional affectations, becoming a population at risk for this problem. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of suicide-survivor status on risk factors and protective factors for suicide. A total of 440 adolescents with a mean age of 15.78 (SD = 1.74) participated, who were divided according to survivor status, identified as the SV group (79 cases), and non-survivors, identified as the NSV group—adolescents that did not have experience or contact with a suicide attempt (361 cases). A questionnaire of sociodemographic characterization and risk conditions, the Alexian Brother Urge to Self-Injure (ABUSI), the Plutchik Suicide Risk Scale, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the Cognitive and Affective Empathy Test (TECA) were applied. Descriptive statistics, mean difference for independent samples, contingency tables, X2 statistic, Fisher’s exact statistic, and Cohen’s d coefficient were used. The results show significant differences between SV and NSV participants in risk and protective factors regarding the presence of a greater adoption of perspective and emotional understanding. On the other hand, NSV adolescents presented higher scores of perceived social supports regarding risk factors, and there was a higher proportion of a history of suicide attempt, severity/hospitalization, impulse to self-harm, and level of suicidal risk in the SV group. The need to incorporate forms of suicide prevention with the survivor population is discussed, increasing the possibilities of postvention.2023-01-01T00:00:00ZA Survey of Deep Learning Based NOMA: State of the Art, Key Aspects, Open Challenges and Future Trends

Resumen : Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) has become a promising evolution with the emergence of fifth-generation (5G) and Beyond-5G (B5G) rollouts. The potentials of NOMA are to increase the number of users, the system's capacity, massive connectivity, and enhance the spectrum and energy efficiency in future communication scenarios. However, the practical deployment of NOMA is hindered by the inflexibility caused by the offline design paradigm and non-unified signal processing approaches of different NOMA schemes. The recent innovations and breakthroughs in deep learning (DL) methods have paved the way to adequately address these challenges. The DL-based NOMA can break these fundamental limits of conventional NOMA in several aspects, including throughput, bit-error-rate (BER), low latency, task scheduling, resource allocation, user pairing and other better performance characteristics. This article aims to provide firsthand knowledge of the prominence of NOMA and DL and surveys several DL-enabled NOMA systems. This study emphasizes Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC), Channel State Information (CSI), impulse noise (IN), channel estimation, power allocation, resource allocation, user fairness and transceiver design, and a few other parameters as key performance indicators of NOMA systems. In addition, we outline the integration of DL-based NOMA with several emerging technologies such as intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS), mobile edge computing (MEC), simultaneous wireless and information power transfer (SWIPT), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), and multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO). This study also highlights diverse, significant technical hindrances in DL-based NOMA systems. Finally, we identify some future research directions to shed light on paramount developments needed in existing systems as a probable to invigorate further contributions for DL-based NOMA system.2023-01-01T00:00:00ZComputerized Planning of Surface Ratios in a Milk Extraction Plant

Título : Computerized Planning of Surface Ratios in a Milk Extraction Plant
Autor : Suárez del Villar, Alexis; Álvarez-Sánchez, Ana; Galarza-Tipantuña, Alexander
Resumen : The research is carried out on the milk extraction process of a farm that has been showing a decrease in monthly income, negatively affecting profits, the economic deficit is affected by the milk sales price of 0.32 dollars per liter being lower than that of competitors, the lack of real historical data on the amount of milk extracted, losing control of expenses, and that the plant is not suitable for the process of extraction and storage of milk, causing the milk to be sold at times at 0.29 dollars per liter. There are multinationals that have submitted proposals for the purchase of the milk product; to close these contracts they ask for compliance with the technical standard: Guide of good practices for milk production, technical resolution No. 0217 fifth revision. 0217 fifth revision, was applied as a solution the systematic planning of the plant layout (SLP) using a methodology based on the application of the Relationship Diagram in CORELAP software, and the Method of the Elimination of the double sense of movements, selecting the second alternative, in addition, A mechanical milk extraction equipment is implemented with a milking capacity of 50 cows in 10 500 s, this is achieved by milking two cows at the same rhythm, the production time is reduced by 75% going from 55827 s to 13950 s, with this time 127 Lt are increased in the daily extraction going from 1373 Lt to 1500 Lt, and the personnel requirement is reduced from 5 to 3 operators.2023-01-01T00:00:00ZAugmented Reality Application with Multimedia Content to Support Primary Education

Resumen : Education is continually reinventing itself to meet the growing needs of learners. In the context of an emergency, confinement and mobilization difficulties have necessitated the adoption of online education. This new offer brings technological means to conventional processes, but its main disadvantage is the limited access in some places. This has motivated the present study, which proposes the development of a mobile application using augmented reality (AR) to complement primary education. This application aims to disseminate multimedia content without needing a stable internet connection. A high-performance computer is required for the design and a mid-range smartphone for its execution. Four scripts are generated in c# programming language using Visual Studio. The environment and the three-dimensional objects are developed using Unity software and the packages ARFoundation, Unity MARS, and Vuforia. Two groups of 13 children each participated in the experimental testing. The experimental group used the application for two weeks to complement the virtual classes in the subjects of language, natural sciences, and mathematics. The analysis with SPSS software shows a statistically significant increase in the average grades compared to the control group. This research shows that the use of technology can contribute to improving the current teaching-learning processes.2023-01-01T00:00:00Z
